Normalcy

Today was a relatively normal day by me standards. I went to work, was relatively productive, had lunch with my friend Steven, back to work, doctor's appointment, dinner with Al. Nothing out of the ordinary. WHICH IS AWESOME! Today was a completely normally, totally average day and I loved it. I finally feel like I can say I live in San Francisco (for the moment) and it feels good. It's nice that I have developed a good group of friends, and people who I really look forward to sharing a meal with, shooting the shit, and giving a hug goodbye when all is said and done. I enjoy my job, and feel like I'm really contributing. My coworkers treat me like a peer and an equal and they are interested to hear my feedback on their work on occasion. Today, probably one of the most remarkable moments was right after lunch, it was sunny enough to walk up and down the Bay. I strolled from the Ferry Building on Embarcadero to just past the Bay Bridge and then back again. You could see all of Oakland and there are little mountains, and everything was green and the Bay actually looked pretty. I really liked being able to just take that walk and relax and it really hit me that, yes, I live in San Francisco. I am walking past the Bay on this gorgeous sunny day, and I can do this again. It doesn't have to be rushed. I don't have to worry about catching any flight out of town. The next sunny day I will walk by the Bay and will experience the gloriousness of normalcy once again.
